Memorial Day Weekend

Last weekend, our family enjoyed an impromptu trip up North to the Strawberry area.  Sister-in-law Johanna wanted to get out of Dodge for the weekend, so on Thursday we all scoured the internet for a cabin to stay at somewhere NOT in the dessert.  Irene finally found one, so we all went up North for a two day get-away.  Gary and Irene went up Friday, and Dan and Johanna and our family came up Saturday morning.  It was beautiful, and cold! We enjoyed a hike through the Tonto Natural Bridge and then games and relaxing at the cabin site.  Gary and Irene left in the early evening, and Sunday the rest of us went fishing and then went home.

On Memorial Day, we all went to Lake Alamo with the Kuiper Family.  There were maybe two other boats of the lake, so it was fantastic and worth the almost two hour drive.  When we first got on the boat, Tessa was quite hesitant,  She kept saying “off boat please” and refused to do anything but sit on someone’s lap. But she slowly warmed up to it and Aunt Johanna was soon giving her swimming lessons in the lake and she was loving it.  Now she keeps talking about Daddy “skeeeing” (skiing, or wakeboarding actually) I took some great pictures on my phone, but unfortunately when syncing my phone with the computer, I accidently deleted all of my May pictures.  BOOOOO.

Here is one Johanna took:

All in all, a fun weekend!
